My name is Jocelyn Jones. I am the Kinder teacher here at Washington CDC. I have been teaching for RBUSD Child Development program for over 14 years. Currently I hold an A.S. degree in Early Child Development as well as a Master teacher permit through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. I have been in the early child development field for over 25 years where I taught Infant/Toddler, Preschool as well as served as an Assistant Director. I have worked in corporate child care, state funded preschool, Montessori preschool and special education preschool.  I am a mother of 3 (a son who is 24, a daughter who is 22 and a son who is 7). My husband (of 22 years) and I dedicate a lot of our time to our 7 year old who has Autism. I enjoy Disneyland, traveling, and chasing waterfalls in my downtime.  Teaching young children ages 1 to 5 has always been my passion. I believe children learn through hands-on interactions and through play. Through this play, children develop social and cognitive skills, mature emotionally and gain the self-confidence required to engage in new experiences. I couple developmental play with structured learning in my classroom. As individuals, we all learn differently. In my classroom, I want to give your children the power to acquire the skills they need to become responsible members of their community, creative problem-solvers and lifelong learners. I am committed to maintaining a respectful relationship with each of my families. I look forward to building a relationship with you and your child and thus providing the best Kinder education that we are able to give.
